Definition of RealNames

RealNames used to offer keywords as an alternate site address system. Anyone typing in the name of a company, product or brand in the Internet Explorer address bar was automatically redirected to the official Web site. This is usually because the company owning the brand name has registered their brand name as a keyword with RealNames. The service was shut down at the end of June, 2002.
